Star Tours

Posted under Magic Kingdom & Star Tours

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to one of my favorite rides at Disney World, Star Tours. It’s a simulation ride themed to every one’s favorite movie: Star Wars, that lets you blast off along with R2D2 and travel among the stars. Your captain “Rex” lets you know its his first flight, which makes everyone uneasy and makes for a fun ride. You watch a large screen through the “windshield” of the ship, allowing you to actually feel like you are flying. The simulation does a great job of actually feeling like you are flying through space and part of the Star Wars drama that unfolds. You go through a large ice rock and even get tangled up in a battle. In the end you safely, somewhat, land back in the Star Tours terminal and you’re free to leave. If some of you have motion sickness it may not be the best video to watch, then again it’s not the best ride to partake in either if you find yourself getting sick on some other Disney attractions. Yes I’m talking about the tea cups.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Posted under Magic Kingdom & Thunder Mountain Railroad

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is one of “triple whammy” mountains featured in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. After boarding a run away train you are set off along the mountains, racing through caves and a glacier field. Although the coaster may not be the tallest or fastest, Big Thunder takes you dipping and hopping through an amazing terrain as you almost feel as if you’ll run into the mountain any second! Its fun for the kids, adults and everywhere in between as the scenery makes the ride all worth it. Give Big Thunder Mountain Railroad a digital ride below and let us know what you think of this crazy train ride through the mountains and caves of Disney World!

Cinderella’s Castle Christmas

Posted under Christmas & Cinderella's Castle & Magic Kingdom

Starting in 2007 Disney World’s famous Cinderella Castle is decorated for Christmas. During Mickey’s Merry Christmas Party in the Magic Kingdom the castle comes alive with dazzling icicles strung throughout the spires. Of course its just not that simple as Disney puts on a show every night to turn on the lights. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald all argue on how to decorate the castle when the Fairy Godmother appears to help make the decoration real. She decides that Cinderella will choose, as it is her castle after all, and in the end she chooses the icicles. And so icicles it is and the castle is lit, shining brightly with several icicles.

Stitch’s Great Escape

Posted under Magic Kingdom & Stitch's Great Escape

Stitch’s Great Escape is located in the Magic Kingdoms Tomorrow Land and offers a prequel to the Lilo and Stitch movie. Before entering the main stage you will be greeted with a tour of the location. You’re guide is one of the characters from the movie and you are then led into the teleportation center. Here you will see how “bad aliens” are made good using the technology that the agency has created. While in the waiting area you learn a Level 3 is being teleported in and it’s no other then Stitch himself! After being ushered into the main sitting area its time for the real show t begin. When Stitch arrives it seems he’s no Level 3 at all, but things quickly change. Stitch breaks from from his containing tube and wrecks humorous havoc all around the arena. You can feel Stitch jumping on your shoulders and even smell his burps! Stitch’s Great Escape is a toned down version of Disney’s past Alien Encounter. Although it may not be as scary, it sure keeps up the fun in the Magic Kingdom.

Carousel of Progress

Posted under Carousel of Progress & Magic Kingdom

Disney’s Carousel of Progress is one of those classics you just can’t miss when going to the Magic Kingdom. The ride takes you on a journey through the decades and the progress that ensued. Each “revolution” takes you to a different time period and you learn about how technology increased along with a catchy tune. After watching the video I’m sure you’ll be singing right along. The Carousel of Progress is located in the Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrow Land. You may miss it if you aren’t familiar with the area as it isn’t highly publicized and looks rather run down. But take a ride on the Carousel of Progress, a digital ride, and remember why you love the show so much! Remember it’s a great big beautiful tomorrow!

Splash Mountain

Posted under Magic Kingdom & Splash Mountain

Magic Kingdom is home to many Disney classics and Splash Mountain might be the most animated of them all. Taking place in Brier Rabbit’s brier patch from the movie Song of the South, you’ll ride along the brier patch on a floating log boat. As you travel through the patch you’ll be sung to with several songs that you just can’t get out of your head! With several hilarious scenes and one wet ending, Splash Mountain is a great ride to cool off on hot Florida day and will keep you humming all day long!
