Living Characters: Remy in Epcot

Posted under Epcot & Remy Animatronic

Disney is starting to roll-out living characters, or animatronics of some of its most loved characters. One of the first characters to come to life was Remy from Ratatouille. The waiter walks out with a covered dish and all of a sudden lifts the lid to reveal the chef rat. It’s very humorous from the videos as you seem Remy answering questions and dancing with the chef. Some may find it odd to see a rat at the dinner table, but that makes it even more fun! To see Remy in action, watch the video below then let us know what you think of this living character from Disney.

The Universe of Energy

Posted under Animal Kingdom & Epcot & Universe of Energy

Epcot is home to the Universe of Energy, a movie-ride that takes you through the creation and use of energy. It’s probably more relevant today then ever before with everyone trying to conserve energy and with Ellen DeGeneres as your host you’ll be in for one funny, yet possibly scary ride. After watching the pre-show, you’ll enter Ellen’s dream as Bill Nye the Science Guy helps her learn about energy, in order to beat her college roommate “Stupid Judy” in Jeopardy. It’s a fun, but long ride that will take you on a ride through the age of the dinosaurs. It’s less scary then Dinosaur but still amusing. If you have the time, watch the full ride through below. But don’t say I didn’t warn you that it is very long!

El Rio del Tiempo

Posted under El Rio del Tiempo & Epcot & Flashback

Once located in Epcot’s Mexico Pavillion, the El Rio del Tiempo boat ride, also known as the River of Time, took passengers along a boat ride through Mexico. As of 2007 this version of the ride was removed and replaced with the Gran Fiesta Tour. Since the ride was actually rather good, I felt I should post it anyway and soon the newer version will also be here on Disney World Video. The ride took you through a strolling tour of Mexico, showings it’s beaches and party atmosphere. It was somewhat like Small World in nature but had it’s own flavor as it housed both animatronic and projected video, making for a very fun mix. The tune was also very catchy as well! Since it’s been gone for a few years all we have left of El Rio del Tiempo is the video ride through. Enjoy!

Maelstrom (Norway Pavilion)

Posted under Epcot & Maelstrom

In the Norway Pavilion of Disney World’s Epcot one of the few rides of the World Showcase is housed. In the Maelstrom you board a viking ship to sail the seas of Norway, learning about its past and adventurous nature. Along the travel you’ll meet trolls and polar bears, along with being spun around a few times. Half of the ride takes place with the ship backwards, making it very exciting as you plummet down the hills and get a small splash at the end. There is even a surprise run over a waterfall, ending with a great movie of Norway as you exit the ship and enter back into the World Showcase of Epcot.

Nemo has gone missing yet again and you go on a mini adventure to help find him! The ride is unique as it blends both animated and real life fish all in the same tank! Although it may be scary for some younger kids, many will be happy that Nemo is once again home safe in the end all thanks to you! This is a rather new ride so for all of you who have yet to experience watch the video below and get a taste of The Seas with Nemo and Friends!

Turtle Talk With Crush

Posted under Epcot & Turtle Talk

Turtle Talk With Crush, found in Epcot’s Living Seas is the first live animated show in Disney World where you actually can talk to a animated figure. Crush from Finding Nemo is the star of the show as he takes your questions and actually responds in real time. Its amazing how realistic they make the show as they have an actor in the back that interacts with the show and voices the figure on the screen. No two shows are alike and that’s what makes the show so much fun and so popular. Lines are amazingly long for Turtle Talk and its brought some fresh air into the Living Seas. A good video of the show is below but if you search YouTube you can find many more.
